Jim had no name for the first tune, however it is a version of Miss Casey which can be found as number 1094 in Francis O’Neill’s Music of Ireland collection (1903). Neil was Jim’s source for the tune. The second is a composition of the County Tipperary fiddler and composer Seán Ryan. It represents that portion of Jim’s repertoire which was learned in later years at local sessions.
