It has also been published in Scotland as <em>The Rose Among the Heather<\/em>. Jim\u2019s version equates with that published in Kerr\u2019s <em>First Collection of Merrie Melodies<\/em>with the parts played in reverse order. He learned it from his father. The second tune is Jim\u2019s version of the tune which has its origins in the Scottish strathspey,<em>Captain Campbell<\/em>, which was published as early as the 1780s. In its highland form it has been popular with Donegal fiddlers.
