Cairdeas na bhFidiléirí has been governed by a voluntary committee since its foundation in 1982. We are changing our organisational and governance structures to ensure that we comply with recommended standards in governance, transparency and accountability and we aim to have these changes substantially completed early in 2017.
Our mission statement is simple – we want to:
- strengthen Donegal fiddle playing at its roots
- improve standards of fiddle playing
- promote participation in all aspects of Donegal fiddle music
- encourage the transmission of the Donegal styles and repertoire
