This book tells the story of a community of emigrants from the Rosses, Arranmore and Rutland Islands who in the 1800s, left their homes and moved to Beaver Island in Lake Michigan. They took their culture and native language with them, continuing to speak Irish, play fiddles sing and dance. Patrick Bonner,
born on Beaver Island came to be an important figure on the island. He was recorded by music collectors Alan Lomax and Ivan Walton. This book contains 111 transcriptions of recordings of Patrick Bonner along with his story and the story of this Donegal community in Lake Michigan. € 30 + postage cost.
