T.24 Molly Garbh (highland)

This is a common highland in County Donegal with many names including How Much is that Cutlass that Hangs Upon the Wall? And The Cuckoo’s Nest. The title here is that which was used by Con Cassidy. That title meaning ‘rough Molly’ may be a corruption of Na Mullaigh Garbh, to mean ‘the rough uplands’. It shows much in common with the Scottish strathspey Alasdair McAllister. Though different, it shows similarities with Captain Campbell, number 8 above.
