T.9 The Braes of Mar & The Keel Row (highlands)

As highlands, these tunes derive from the strathspeys of the same name. This combination of tunes would appear to have been the most common pairing as played for dancers by the older generations of fiddlers in Donegal. This popularity may have been influenced by the fact that fiddlers Packie Dolan and James Morrison each recorded them in the same order. Jim uses a nice variation at the beginning of the second part of The Keel Row.
